"Hendersonville Student Ambassador"
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide assistance to students with residency in Henderson County, NC, to travel internationally for the purposes of education, internship, or work study, in an effort to facilitate the exchange of ideas and culture globally, and to foster awareness and appreciation of international relations among Hendersonville area/Henderson County youth.
High school, college, or graduate students between the ages of 16-26 who are in the process of applying to or have been accepted for a study abroad, internship, or work study program of at least 2 weeks for high school or community college students and 3 weeks for students from four-year institutions.
Proof of program acceptance is required prior to award disbursement. Students under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign all application documents. Upon return, recipient(s) will be required to craft a presentation on their international experience for a Hendersonville Sister Cities event.
Funds may be applied to travel, lodging, and other included costs detailed by the applicant in his/her proposed budget. Consideration will be given to purpose of travel, financial need, and academic achievement. Scholarship recipients can only receive the scholarship once. (Please note, we are now accepting applications for the Summer 2019 through Spring 2020 semesters; amounts are to be determined.)
